Vision
The Everett Crowley Park Committee is a vibrant subcommittee of the Champlain Heights Community Association, collaborating to nurture a thriving, biodiverse park through shared stewardship and community inclusion.
We envision Everett Crowley Park as a thriving urban forest sanctuary, rich with biologically diverse ecosystems. Our work is dedicated to achieving this through a strong, reciprocal relationship with the three host First Nations and collaborative stewardship alongside the Vancouver Park Board, South Vancouver residents, universities, and partner NGOs. This park will foster cohesive, inclusive communities who share a deep, lasting connection to the land's natural and cultural heritage.
Our Objectives
-

Habitat Rehabilitation
Enhance, restore, and maintain biologically diverse habitats to support a resilient mix of plants and wildlife.
-

Nature Education & Connection
Cultivate a love and understanding of the park’s natural regeneration processes, encouraging community support for ecological health.
-

Park Infrastructure
Advocate for capital improvements to the park to support a balance of human enjoyment with the thriving habitats.
-
Recreation
Promote and support low-impact recreational activities that respect the park’s natural character and ecological integrity.
-
Broader Ecological Engagement
Align park stewardship with local, regional, and global environmental challenges and initiatives, fostering a sense of shared responsibility beyond the park boundaries.
“Everett Crowley Park is a green space right in my own neighborhood, so it means a lot to me to do my part to care for it. Volunteering with ECPC has been absolutely wonderful. It provides me with a tangible way to take climate action in a hyper local way, and gives me a greater sense of belonging in my community.”
